WIP Wednesday – Edith Sweater

So after a few years of making Edith hats , I caved. I was asked to make an Edith sweater. I have been asked a few times to make one but this year I said yes. I am confident  with my knitting where making a simple sweater wont scare the hell out of me. The pattern is easy enough. Its a paid pattern by Brigette Pini .

I started October 1st but really got into it ( meaning I put hat orders on hold until I make a good chunk of this sweater) on the 3rd .

As of last night I am almost done with one sleeve. I want to have this shipped out by the 16th.

Work In Progress Wednesday!

I love when I have a WIP to show on Wednesday . 🙂 If you have read any of my A Year of Projects post from this  or last month,  you would know I am slashing my stash.  Too mush yarn for a little space.

Any way I have this ball of yarn from Red Heart called Artist Print. Its so beautiful. But I haven’t had any luck with finding the right project for it. A few days ago I decided it was time. Its a big ball.. a full skein I believe.  I looked on ravelry for the colorway to see what it looks up knitted and crocheted .

I found a project called Fifi scarf  .  I loved it and had to make one for myself. Its a knitted project. Perfect. I am a bit obsessed with knitting at the moment.

Its an easy pattern and with this yarn its working up beautifully. I am at the tricky part. I have to create the “loop” that the other side of the scarf will go through. Ive never had to divide my knitting  but it went pretty well. No dropped stitches 🙂 🙂

The picture above shows where I had to divide the stitches. 12 on each needle. I did the k1,p1 ribbing on one half of the stitches last night. Tonight I will cut the yarn and do the ribbing for the other 12 stitches.

WIP Wednesday 2/15/17

I love these days. I wish I had more to share but I’ve been a bit busy making Pink P**sy hats. I can honestly say I hate the color pink. I really do 🙂 Staring at the color for weeks made my head hurt.

Todays WIP is a knitted hat that I just love. You can find the pattern HERE . Its called Sunset hat. When I saw this pattern on ravelry I knew I had to make it. I love color work. It gives the hat personality.

I am about to add my 3rd color. Papaya ( Red Heart with Love). My other colors are Delft Blue (Red Heart Super Saver) and Putty ( Red Heart Accent). My 4th color is still undecided. It might be coral or carrot. The colors are basically the same but with a slight difference .

I’ve noticed something about knitting… it doesn’t use up as much yarn as crocheting.  Which is a good thing but also bad since I am trying to cut my yarn stash in half this year 🙂

WIP Wednesday

The first WIP of 2017…. I’ve been wanting to make these fingerless mitts for a while but I haven’t had the yarn to make them. A yarnie friend of mine gave me a bag of Red Heart Unforgettable and Knits Picks Chroma.

The yarn I used for these mitts are Knits Picks Chroma : Dear Diary. I love them! I plan to re make the first one because I like the second with the pink crocodile stitch .

These Crocodile Fingerless mitts are by R.W.

WIP Wednesday

Planned Pooling.. Have you heard about it?

If you are a crocheter you probably have. I spend too much time on facebook..lol If I wasn’t on fb at the time I was I would never have saw the post by the Crochet Crowd. ( click the link for more info… on their website)

I have a few skeins and balls of variegated yarn I want to pool. Pooling is all about the magic number. How many chains ( and hook size ) will work up nicely  so that you get a tartan or harlequin effect. Its not an easy thing to do. 😦

I have this ball of red heart yarn . It doesn’t want to cooperate! the left side I chained 28 with an I hook  and the right I chained 24 with an I hook. I think I am close.

I am in 2 groups on facebook about planned pooling. Just search for “pooling” and you will see one of them.
