A Year of Projects, Crochet stuff

FINISHED: Boston Bruins blanket

Its finally done and I have no idea what to do with myself. hehe.  Ive had a dew up and downs with this blanket. Last friday I was just about finished with it. I was sewing on the last row of squares and I noticed on of the squares wasn’t matching up. I have no idea how this happened. I unsewed the right side of the blanket and re sewed it . Better. I might of stretched a square too much. Oh well. its done!

Now to get more black yarn to make a boarder to hide some of the imperfections  and make some numbers for my fave players. Since I started this blanket 2 of my faves have left the Bruins ( Thornton and Lucic ) but I think I will add them anyway.

Here is a look at the blankets journey in case you missed it.

FINISHED! thanks to my wonderful fiance for helping me take this photo 🙂

Now can it be hockey season?! 🙂

My Ladybug flag is finished. I love how it turned out! I have to make another ladybug body to cover the sewing on the other side.

And while I have your attention…. Is anyone else making the Lily Pond Blanket ?

I can’t wait until for year 5… I have so many ideas for my hook challenge 🙂 I will post more about that in a few weeks because I want the A year of projects ravelry group to join in too.

Now for my updates…. As I mentioned in my WIP post , I have been searching for a K hook size project that I loved. I finally found one! I was set on just making curtains for my porch but realizing I have 7 windows , I decided on something else.

I love this bag. Pattern is by Jennette Reid .

My Boston Bruin blanket is coming out well… and fast. I’m almost done. I think after I make the rest of the yellow squares I will stop for a few months. Its starting to warm up here so I won’t need it.

I made all these squares over the past few days.

YOP week 36: More squares

3a475-yop2bheader

First I want to apologize for my yucky out side table. My porch has the best light.

A few weeks ago I started my Boston Bruin Blanket. I had trouble deciding on either to make traditional granny squares or solid.   With help of a facebook group I love , I will be making the blanket with solid squares. They will use up a but more yarn but the blanket will be warmer. Here is my progress so far….

These are squares for the top of the blanket. I ran out of yellow so I started making black squares.

This is the chart I am using .. I am using smaller squares because I don’t need a big blanket.

I plan to make numbers ( by Moogly) for my favorite team members. I think I can fill up all the big squares around the B.

A Year of Projects

YOP week 34: Boston Bruins Blanket

I have started the Boston Bruins Blanket. I love making granny squares and putting them together. That’s why I loved making the Mario Blanket so much.  But this blanket is a bit different. there are 4 sizes of squares. 3, 6, 9 and 12 rounds.  That is a bit big for me, so I am doing 2,4,6,and 8 round squares.

And I recently found a pattern for a solid granny square. I am not sure which square I like more. I don’t want to make a bunch of squares in one style and end up not liking it and having to make them over again.

This week I ask for your help! should I make the traditional granny square or the solid?

let the square count down begin!

Yellow
