What is your favorite fairy tale and why?

The theme of the next few posts are Tales.

Today’s writing prompt is: What is your favorite fairy tale and why?

I don’t want to be corny and say the Little Mermaid, Snow White, or Cinderella. I had to look up a list of fairy tales to refresh my memory . A few I remember , The Princess and the Pea, Thumbelina, Hansel and Gretel , Rumpelstiltskin( not to be confused with the character on Once Upon a Time, a show I love. He also played Belle’s Beast, and Captain Hook’s Crocodile.)

Also A Christmas Carol was on the fairy tale list. A story I love. A movie I watch every year around Christmas. I love the characters in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland but not much of the story. While the Princess and the Pea and Thumbelina are cute, Hansel and Gretel is a bit dark, and Rumpelstiltskin makes me smirk at the end but the one I love most is Snow White and Rose Red . 

I remember reading it as a child.  I remember liking the story because no one got hurt , except the dwarf. ( but he deserved it)  And both girls were happy. They didn’t have to compete against each other.  As a little girl I wanted the little girls in my story books to be happy.

Blogging about something new

I usually stare at my computer screen hoping that words will just magically appear.  Sometimes only half a thought comes out and the post is left in my drafts for eternity .

I want to blog about something other than crochet, knitting, any thing yarn related. But i need a little push, a topic to talk about. nothing serious like politics or religion, or parenting, ( since I dont have kids) . And my life is pretty boring. I can probably fill a tweet more than a blog post.

Today I remembered Blogher and the writing prompts they use to have. I use to post when they did their #NaBloPoMo .The last one was September 2016. It seems they are more occupied with the conferences. But their prompts are still around.

Anyway a lot of the prompts “spoke to me” lol . So if you see a post about the one appliance I cant live with out.. Dont worry, its just me and I have not lost my mind 🙂

The first theme I may tackle is their august prompts, TALES.

 

Hello new…Good Riddance Old

I am so far behind on my blogher posts. I always say I want to write more and I don’t. well I actually have something to write about. the writing prompt for May 11 .( yeah I know it was last week.. better late than never)  was What is something you’ve recently replaced in your home? How do you feel about the new item?

How do I feel ? Extatic? For about 5 months our computer chair has been a bit broke. the back of it just about gave out. We’ve had it for almost 2 years (?) Last month my fiance really put the last nail its coffin. The back was almost off the seat I think. If someone sat back on it , it would probably tip over. So what did Jon do? He wrapped electrical tape around it. It held for a day. But electrical tape stretches so he had to buy some clothes line rope.. ( you can laugh if you want) He wrapped the rope around the chair and it seemed to be okay. but the back still leaned back too much.

Why did we wait so long to get a new chair? Taxes. Jon wanted to use the money he was getting back from the state to buy the chair and some other stuff and not spend the federal since he got more back from them. Well its the middle of May and nothing from the state  so he had to dip into his savings and buy a new chair. It was time. Past due actually. That chair really needed to be put out of its misery.

So last weekend we went to Walmart and bought a new chair. YAY!!!We put it together in about 10 minutes. The old chair came out and the new chair went in. It’s very comfortable and we don’t have to worry about tipping over if we sit back 🙂

Now the old chair sits on the porch. I took the wheels part off the seat. Jon just needs to unscrew the arms and back so we can put it in the trash.

We will remember that chair fondly.. HAHAHAHA

I’m a Masshole. Born and bred in Massachusetts.

I’m an 80’s girl. I love Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony.

Fave sports team- Boston Bruins

Favorite class in school- Lunch. That wasn’t a class? fine! English I guess.

Dislikes- socks… I’ll wear sandals until its snows! , doing dishes and vacuuming, waking up before the sun, the color yellow, and after making 15 + Edith Inspired ( Despicable me ) hats for customers, the color Pink.

NaBloPoMo

I just added my awesome blog to BlogHer’s National Blog Post Month blogroll. Its like National Novel Writers Month but with NaBloPoMo bloggers write a post for every day in November.

Why did I choose to do this as well? Punishment? No. I want to write more. I like to write. My life is pretty boring so I hope I can find things to write about all month long and work on my novel for NaNoWriMo.

I plan to not mention anything regarding politics or religion. I don’t want to make any of my readers angry. I plan to use this month to look deep into myself and find the amazing writer I know I can be. Maybe inspire people in some way. Work on my poetry. Work on my vocabulary 🙂
