Temperature Blanket 2016

Temperature Blanket 2016 update

The end of 2016 is so close and I realized I have not posted a separate update for the Temperature blanket in a few months.

As you can see , not many HOT days. Nothing over 100 degrees. But It was quite humid on some days. The orange squares are the 90s .

Thankfully by September it started to cool off. Almost hoodie weather 🙂

I marked Halloween on the last square, as you can see. I have a heart for Valentines day and a shamrock for St Patrick’s day attached . I need to add a few more.

The November squares are being made this week and will be crocheted to  the other squares this month. I am a little behind but making the squares is a bigger part than sewing them together , I think.

I just can wait for this blanket to be done. 🙂 So I can choose the colors and design for the 2017 temperature blanket.

A Year of Projects

YoP5 week 50

Week 50 !! It’s almost over!!

I worked on 3 big projects this past week.  Lily Pond blanket ( I just needed a border) , Latticeback bolero (I had to frog the back because it was too high up–too tight) and I joined 6 panels of the Emoji blanket. I need to decide which 3 emojis I want to add. I was thinking halo, poo, and sleep  ( or whatever it’s called.)IMG_20160612_1011361_rewind

I worked on (and will be adding to my year 6 list ) Wildlife Rescue Nests for local rescues.

I started up another hat drive over on my charity facebook page.. Comfort caps for New England. The Summer of Sports. My goal is to get 100 sport themed hats by Aug  and send them to the NE Children’s hospitals. Check out the page if you want to help 🙂

I made this teen sized soccer cap this week.

To the A Year of Projects members , I added the 3rd banner and side bars ( crocheters and knitters) for year 6 to the ravelry thread. I am saving my favorite for last 🙂

Emoji Blanket

If you are a crocheter than maybe you have heard of a Corner to Corner (c2c for short).

But if you haven’t ( OMG why not?!?!?) then you should check out Repeat Crafter Me‘s amazing C2C blankets. ( Actually check out all of Sarah’s patterns).

I started the emoji panel blanket the first week of February of this year. Like I need another blanket ( Lily Pond blanket and now Frida’s Flowers ) . These panels were hard to resist. They’re so cute!

Since I don’t need another blanket I decided to make a curtain for my craft area.  I can fit 3 across the door (less) frame. I will only be making 9 panels.6 are done… see for yourself ….

I have to sew the ends in but all in all I am happy the way they are turning out. Now to decide what my last 3 emojis will be. A few people I’ve found made others than what Sarah made for the pattern. I will show you later 🙂

Temperature Blanket week 1

Have you heard about this?

“The idea is to crochet a row a day for an entire year. The color you use is determined by the temperature each day.”       -Repeat Crafter Me. ( said it best)

I first heard about a Temperature Scarf a few years ago. I started one but never got past the first month. This year I plan to make a blanket. I like projects I can piece together. My blanket will be 2 round granny squares using a J size hook.

YOP week 36: More squares

3a475-yop2bheader

First I want to apologize for my yucky out side table. My porch has the best light.

A few weeks ago I started my Boston Bruin Blanket. I had trouble deciding on either to make traditional granny squares or solid.   With help of a facebook group I love , I will be making the blanket with solid squares. They will use up a but more yarn but the blanket will be warmer. Here is my progress so far….

These are squares for the top of the blanket. I ran out of yellow so I started making black squares.

This is the chart I am using .. I am using smaller squares because I don’t need a big blanket.

I plan to make numbers ( by Moogly) for my favorite team members. I think I can fill up all the big squares around the B.

4 rnd sq- ___of 1 made

8 rnd sq- 2 of 14 made
