F.R.I.E.N.D.S blanket: the plan

Yup, I have not finished it. Ive barely started it.

According to my project page on ravelry for The One with the Banner , the last update was May 27th 2017.

The one with the banner in all its awesomeness… with cat hair and a few spots to fix.

The Plan: Since Ive already watched all 10 seasons of the show recently and do not want to watch again so soon, my idea is to watch other tv shows and movies that the cast has been in while making the blanket.

I got the idea while I was watching the O.C. on hulu. I have Tate Donovan, Joshua on FRIENDS to thank for this possible nightmare..lol

Ive already seen just about everything that the main cast has been in but I am willing (lol ) to re-re-re-re watch their movies again.

My search sites are Netflix and Hulu. Maybe I will find new movies.

For Jennifer Aniston I found Cake. Movie on Nexflix that I havent seen . on Hulu I found and episode of Saturday Night live and episode of 30rock.

Courtney Cox I found Mothers and Daughters (havent seen) and 3000 miles to Graceland on Netflix. And of course I do need to catch up on Cougar Town which is on Hulu.

Lisa Kudrow is in one of my all time favorite movies Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. That will definitely be watched since I own the DVD.

Matt Leblanc’s show Episodes is on Netflix so I may check that out and Man with a Plan is on CBS… another maybe.

Matthew Perry is my fave so Almost Heros, Fools Rush In and The Odd Couple will be re watched.

David Schwimmer is a tough one to find a movie for on hulu or Netflix. All I could find was The People vs O.J. Simpson  and The Iceman on netflix. The Iceman will likely be watched over the O.J movie.

Another place I can find movies for this cast….the library!!! DUH!! But that will be a last resort.

Sophie’s Universe Blanket

It finally happened. After a few years after the release I have the desire to make the Sophie’s Universe Blanket.

I am sorta a fan of big projects. I like the projects I can make in separate pieces and sew together. This is not one of those big projects.

Its does take a lot of yarn and time. Which I have both of.

I took some time to choose my colors. I really love one of the sample blankets on Dedri Uys’s website  ( link opens a new window). Which is her first photo on her ravelry page. The turquoise is so dominant . It really catches the eye. ( its one of my favorite colors).

I changed out the canary for Caron’s Cream, but basically kept the rest in the same color family. I think I will be changing a few colors as I go . I want to make this a mostly purple blanket. Another color that sticks out to me are the pinks. I am not a fan of pink. So I want to work in the purples in the big areas and switch them with the pinks for the smaller areas.

The sample blanket I am following (colors only) is Dedri’s small . I am using worsted weight yarn . Red Heart Yarn, Studio Stitches by Nicole and Caron one pound.

Happy Birthday to me! 29 feels great ..( with 8 years experience) lol.  If it wasn’t for my “wisdom highlights” I could totally pass for early 30s  🙂

Ok now to the reason you are here.. Stuff made with yarn 🙂

I amaze myself sometimes. This Magickarp hat is actually pretty cute. I am not a pokemon person but Jon is and he loves it. too bad its already spoken for. ( and he doesn’t wear hats so he cant keep it)

I also finished the lemon drop hat. I LOVE KNITTING!!!!!

And I finished the dragonflies blanket. I added Guava then cranberry and used the crab stitch with light raspberry as the boarder.

Now I will have time to knit some scarves for the Maine and New Hampshire’s Special Olympics 🙂

Temperature Blanket 2016 update

The end of 2016 is so close and I realized I have not posted a separate update for the Temperature blanket in a few months.

As you can see , not many HOT days. Nothing over 100 degrees. But It was quite humid on some days. The orange squares are the 90s .

Thankfully by September it started to cool off. Almost hoodie weather 🙂

I marked Halloween on the last square, as you can see. I have a heart for Valentines day and a shamrock for St Patrick’s day attached . I need to add a few more.

The November squares are being made this week and will be crocheted to  the other squares this month. I am a little behind but making the squares is a bigger part than sewing them together , I think.

I just can wait for this blanket to be done. 🙂 So I can choose the colors and design for the 2017 temperature blanket.

Week 50 !! It’s almost over!!

I worked on 3 big projects this past week.  Lily Pond blanket ( I just needed a border) , Latticeback bolero (I had to frog the back because it was too high up–too tight) and I joined 6 panels of the Emoji blanket. I need to decide which 3 emojis I want to add. I was thinking halo, poo, and sleep  ( or whatever it’s called.)

 

I worked on (and will be adding to my year 6 list ) Wildlife Rescue Nests for local rescues.

I started up another hat drive over on my charity facebook page.. Comfort caps for New England. The Summer of Sports. My goal is to get 100 sport themed hats by Aug  and send them to the NE Children’s hospitals. Check out the page if you want to help 🙂

I made this teen sized soccer cap this week.

To the A Year of Projects members , I added the 3rd banner and side bars ( crocheters and knitters) for year 6 to the ravelry thread. I am saving my favorite for last 🙂
