WIP Wednesday – Edith Sweater

So after a few years of making Edith hats , I caved. I was asked to make an Edith sweater. I have been asked a few times to make one but this year I said yes. I am confidentย  with my knitting where making a simple sweater wont scare the hell out of me. The pattern is easy enough. Its a paid pattern by Brigette Piniย .

I started October 1st but really got into it ( meaning I put hat orders on hold until I make a good chunk of this sweater) on the 3rd .

As of last night I am almost done with one sleeve. I want to have this shipped out by the 16th.

WIP Wednesday

Today is a day of favorites which happen to all be on a Wednesday ๐Ÿ™‚

On the needles:ย

I have learned how to do cables!! I am so proud of myself. They are so easy! I’ve started 2 headbands , so far.ย  Ive been looking at my yarn , thinking how it would look with cables ๐Ÿ™‚

Yarn used:

the first one is Studio Samples by Nicole. no colorway on label.

the gray one is Lion Brand Yarn ( who have been likingย  few of my posts on instagram this past week ๐Ÿ™‚ ) I think this color has been discontinued so I hope this headband will look awesome.

On the hooks:

Halloween orders have started ๐Ÿ™‚ YAY! Again, lots of Edith hats.

And for something new to my shop… something with ringlets! this is a stash slim down project since I am using the Pretty n Pink balls for the ringlets.

WIPS

The Great Stash Bust of 2017

My stash slim down isn’t slimming as fast as I wanted it to. I don’t mind the almost full to full skeins of yarn , its the little balls that piss me off..lol ๐Ÿ™‚

I had a list of small projects I was going to use the balls for but once I made those projects , then what? They would just lay around collecting dust, taking up room I cant spare. So with that in mind I searched through patterns I have saved on ravelry and found the log cabin potholder. IMG_4174ย I’ve seen blankets made like this so thats what I wanted to do . I was so against making blankets because they take up so much room but its better than multiple little projects taking up room.

I will be calling this blanket ย  ย  ย ‘The ugliest blanket you’ve ever seen’ . ๐Ÿ™‚

I made a few small 3 round squares that I may keep the way they are and make more of with the smallest balls. I may only have enough yarn to make a lap blanket if I continue with the big squares, and thats ok. I may even use some of my full skeins. ๐Ÿ™‚

The yarn I am using is Red Heart worsted weight with an H hook.

A Year of Projects, WIPS

YOP7 week 7

There isnt much to mention this week.. its been pretty dull.

My WIP for the month, like I mentioned last week, is the Princess Mononoke Pullover. I was able to take a better picture. I need to get needles with a longer cord. These are 16 inches.

The mask is almost complete. About 20 more rows..lol ๐Ÿ™‚

My FO’s were actually finished a few weeks ago….

I made an infinity scarf on my purple KK loom. Ive loved this yarn for so long. its by Fancy Yarns. I have no idea what the colorway is.

Below is the cowl I posted about last month for a WIP Wednesday.

And lastly, I frogged the Man hat. ugh!!! I got to the decrease and the hat was at a point where I could try it on. Too tight. It broke my heart to take it apart. Do I have any ambition to start over…. does not look good.  Although I love the yarn and the pattern, doing the knit rows hurt my thumb. Must be the thick yarn.

A Year of Projects, WIPS

YOP7 wk 6

I dont have a list for A Year of Projects. What I do have is a bundle I made on ravelry with projects I’d like to make.. someday. Also I’ve planned out 4 big quarterly projects. This quarter, July 1st to Sept 30 is the Princess Mononoke Pullover. Yes I started it in May but it is less than half done and it needs to get done.

This is the best photo I could post since I am in a middle of a row. This was a few months ago. I think I am close to half way done with the graph . When I take better pics I will talk about adjustments I want to make .18646026_1335903496495458_9118225529437159424_n

There is this group on ravelry that will be making the Sophie’s Universe blanket in October which is great since that is when I plan start my second big quarterly project… fate ๐Ÿ™‚ ย And October is when I will have extra money from the Halloween orders from my etsy shop ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Yup, I may have to buy more yarn for this project.

For my current WIPS , I am still working on the Man hat. I love how this yarn is knitting up. My YOP friend, Becki told me Saturate by Premier Yarns is discontinued. Which broke my heart ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I have one more skein of the color below ( agate) and ย 2 others (Zinna and Fluorite). ย So I will be extra picky when it comes to projects for those.

And for another group (GEMS) I am making a crocodile scarf…. The CAL of the month is the Dragon/Crocodile/Alligator stitch. Where was this CAL when I made the Mermaid Cowl..lol This is the tail.

I could also finish the ย crocodile fingerless gloves I started back in January. ย We’ll see ๐Ÿ™‚
