I recently saw a reading challenge called #25infive on instagram. The participants read what they can for 25 hours in 5 days.
My yarn obsessed brain got to thinking about how I can use this with my yarn balls. I still have a ton. Here is what I was thinking , use 25 balls of yarn , any size, any weight, in 5 days. Make whatever I want.
Its Friday so I will take the weekend to look through my stash and pick my 25 and post again on monday, day 1.
This could be a fun monthly crochet/knit/loom a long 🙂
If you play along , leave your post link in the comments.
This one came out so cute. But unlike the others I did not watch a Friends related movie to keep me motivated. 😦
Next up is either Central Perk or Phoebe’s Guitar . I am doing something different with Phoebe’s guitar though. I remember an episode where she had a blue one. I found a clip of it where Ross scares her at Central Perk .
Next update will be next Thursday.
Need to get caught up?.. check out the following posts. 🙂
I decided to put down the banner block to work on a few smaller blocks for this CAL. The banner is so big and I am not liking how its coming out. I may or may not re do it.
So on to the peephole!
Block name: The One with the Peephole Frame
Movie I watched: 3000 to Graceland ( Courtney Cox)
I am only at the half way point of this block. Its sorta a pain in the butt with all the color changes. But I like how its coming out. I am using up alot of the small lemon colored yarn scraps I have from taking apart the 2016 temperature blanket I attempted.
I will most likely finish this by tomorrow. So the next block will be either The One with Smelly Cat or I’ll just suck it up and finish The One with the Banner.
It finally happened. After a few years after the release I have the desire to make the Sophie’s Universe Blanket.
I am sorta a fan of big projects. I like the projects I can make in separate pieces and sew together. This is not one of those big projects.
Its does take a lot of yarn and time. Which I have both of.
I took some time to choose my colors. I really love one of the sample blankets on Dedri Uys’s website ( link opens a new window). Which is her first photo on her ravelry page. The turquoise is so dominant . It really catches the eye. ( its one of my favorite colors).
I changed out the canary for Caron’s Cream, but basically kept the rest in the same color family. I think I will be changing a few colors as I go . I want to make this a mostly purple blanket. Another color that sticks out to me are the pinks. I am not a fan of pink. So I want to work in the purples in the big areas and switch them with the pinks for the smaller areas.
Here is my Sophie’s journey so far…
The sample blanket I am following (colors only) is Dedri’s small . I am using worsted weight yarn . Red Heart Yarn, Studio Stitches by Nicole and Caron one pound.
Colors are as follows:
Canary Cream ( Caron)
light pinkbaby pink ( Studio Stitches by Nicole)
fuchsiaShocking Pink( Red Heart)
PinkDeep Pink ( Studio Stitches by Nicole)

This is also part of my stash slim down for A year of Projects ( on ravelry ) and a quarterly big project for the same group.
